Autumn Sun Breaks

Work in Progress
Original Watercolor on Paper
15"x22"

This is the demo I did for my class tonight at Skagit Valley College. I tweaked it a little about 15 minutes ago, and it will remain "on the easel" until I feel it's a little more finessed. Then I will post the finished one and a link to this image as well as the reference photo from which I painted.

  1. Hi Michele! It amazes me how you can produce such a beautiful painting in so short a time... especially while under the gun time-wise. The painting started out with little color but became so vivid. Love it! Smiles, Cindy

  2. Thank you, Cindy, for your kind words about my painting.

I used to feel the same way about the demonstrations of my own instructors. What they told me turns out to be true. It takes all the practice, observation and planning from all the years before to make the "40 minute painting" of today!

The great thing about it is that the journey itself is full of inspiration, triumphs and letdowns and most of all, an education like no other.
