EDiM 3 - Curtains

I'm doing the Every Day in May sketch challenge and the prompt for day 3 is curtains.

I was browsing online and my heart was caught by a photo of the naughty cat nestling in her window, shredded curtains and all. It brought back memories of my grandmothers.

I come from a long line of farmers in Kansas and Alberta, though I have never lived on a farm. My great grandmother said it wasn't a home unless there were lace curtains in the window. Same attitude about cats; not allowed inside!
I wrote to say how lovely Barbara's photos are and how much her words resonate.

Barbara has generously given me permission to use her photo as the source for my sketch today. Please see why I love reading her words and am inspired by her beautiful pictures.

Where is that feather I was saving?

"Excuse ME?
Original Watercolor and graphite by Michele Cooper
7"x5"
Price: $45 for canary, or $145, framed with two cats

I'm having a little fun with the characters in this little drama that's unfolding. SOMEBODY has "borrowed" a little yellow feather, just to see how it tastes. (See yesterday's post.)  You know I would never let anything drastic happen to the canary now don't you?

Anyway, I think they fit pretty well together in a special frame that I have been holding onto for a while now. What do you think?
