Delphiniums

"Delphiniums" (22"x15")
Original Watercolor by Michele Cooper

Here's another one of my blue flowers.....delphiniums. It's the time of year that we get the most blue and blue violet flowers here in the Pacific NW.

The softest, bluest lavender field I know is just peeking out a little. Maybe by this time next week, I will be able to do a few sketches at my favorite farm.

Wine and Watercolor

New Crop
10"x8" Original Watercolor

One of my upcoming summer watercolor workshops is a fun evening with "Wine and Watercolor". See my workshops page for more information.

First, we have a wine tasting across the street from KAC, then we go back to KAC for more nibbles and a project you can take home with you. All that's needed is a loaf of bread, a slice of cheese and thou. :-)

By the way, this loose, improvisational glazing method is the same one I used on my floral, "Rhodies".

Update.
I am very pleased to see that my Iris Field video has been listed here from YouTube under watercolourcourses.com as among "the best watercolour courses and watercolour information"!

It has only been up for 5 days! So thanks for watching and for the kind words emailed to me.

Free Watercolor Video Lesson

Iris Fields
5x7" Original Watercolor
by Michele Cooper

Foregrounds and value studies seem to be two of the most challenging aspects of painting a watercolor landscape.

This subject was covered in one of my recent classes, but I wanted to connect those two aspects to a finished example. So several days later, long nights and editing out lawnmower sounds and a tiny spider descending into frame from my skylight............and......VoilĂ ! I have one more YouTube demonstration to add to my channel!

You can watch it right here on my blog or click the little rectangle to the right of the YouTube logo in the lower right corner of the video to see full screen here or on YouTube. Let me know what you think, okay?

One little blue flower

Delphinium Blossom
4"x5" Original watercolor

We have a blue and white garden in the back yard. These beautiful blue flowers were an anniversary gift from my husband this year.
