Sketching at Cabela's

After visiting Tri-Dee Art Suppliers in Mt. Vernon and a few other favorite spots, we took our two grandchildren to Cabela's, an outdoor outfitter in Marysville. My granddaughter and I sketched the lobby ceiling display while sitting in comfy chairs.

Part of a fun day out with our grandchildren
Kenya drew the two salmon in her new Pentalic Aqua journal. ....and I sketched the Orca getting ready to eat them.

  1. How wonderful.... to sketch with your grand daughter! Looks like she has a good sketchbook... one that you use, too? Hers is a nice sketch! Of course, so is yours! I've not yet sketched at a Cabela's and I didn't know there was one in Marysville. Tri-Dee is a good store. Next time I'm in the area, I'll find Cabela's, too.

    1. Thank you, Kate. Yep, nothing more satisfying than having some time to sketch with my granddaughter. She's enjoying her new Pentalic Aqua Journal, the same one I use. :) Next time you're in the area, take the 116th Street exit. Cabela's is on the west side of I-5 next to the casino.

  2. Great sketch! I noticed your small 6 color palette. Would you share what colors you carry in it? I'm in the process of making a travel palette and am trying to figure out which colors would be best. Thanks!

    1. Thank you for your kind words. Previously, in a post on minimum palettes, I listed the six colors in my DIY Altoids sketching kit.

    1. Thanks, Joan. Yes, it is a store where you could find something to sketch any time you go there. The possibilities are limitless.
